1. Introduction

Welcome to JustMathify ("JustMathify", "we", "our", or "us").

JustMathify is an online mathematics learning and practice platform designed to provide children with personalised and adaptive maths practice in an engaging and age-appropriate environment.

We are committed to protecting the privacy and safety of children and parents who use JustMathify.com and our related services (collectively, the "Service").

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, how certain social and competitive features work, and the choices available to parents and guardians.

2. Parent Accounts and Child Profiles

Children do not need to create independent accounts using their personal contact information.

A parent or legal guardian creates and manages the account and may create one or more child profiles under that account.

Parent Information

When creating or managing an account, we may collect information such as:

  • Parent or guardian name;
  • Email address;
  • Login and account information;
  • Communications sent to JustMathify; and
  • Other information reasonably required to operate and support the parent account.

Child Profile Information

A child profile may include:

  • A nickname or display name;
  • A JustMathify avatar selected by the child;
  • Applicable educational information, such as year/grade or curriculum;
  • Maths learning level and progress;
  • XP, belts, achievements and rewards;
  • Items and avatars unlocked or collected;
  • Maths Battle history and results;
  • Leaderboard performance; and
  • Other learning and activity information generated through use of JustMathify.

Children are not required to provide an email address, telephone number or profile photograph to create or use a child profile.

Parents and children should not use a child's real full name, contact details or other personally identifying information as the child's nickname.

3. Learning and Performance Data

JustMathify records information generated through maths practice so that we can provide an adaptive and personalised learning experience.

This may include:

  • Topics, skills and concepts practised;
  • Questions attempted;
  • Correct and incorrect answers;
  • Difficulty levels;
  • Scores and accuracy;
  • Learning progress and mastery;
  • Practice frequency and activity;
  • XP earned;
  • Belts, levels and achievements;
  • Time spent practising;
  • Maths Battle performance; and
  • Other information necessary to adapt future practice to the child's demonstrated performance.

We use this information to determine appropriate question difficulty, identify areas requiring additional practice, track progress and improve the learning experience.

4. XP, Rewards and Virtual Items

Children may earn XP and other virtual rewards through activities on JustMathify.

XP may be used within the Service to unlock or obtain virtual items such as:

  • Avatars;
  • Toys and collectibles;
  • Badges;
  • Battle powers;
  • Emoji or reaction packs; and
  • Other virtual features introduced from time to time.

We maintain records of XP earned and spent, virtual items obtained, achievements unlocked and related activity so that these features can operate correctly.

5. Leaderboards and Rankings

JustMathify may provide competitive leaderboards to make maths practice engaging and recognise children's achievements.

Leaderboards may include rankings among groups such as:

  • Weekly peer groups;
  • School;
  • District or other geographic grouping;
  • State;
  • Country; and
  • Global users.

Where leaderboards are available, other users will see only limited profile information intended for the competitive experience, such as:

  • The child's nickname;
  • Selected JustMathify avatar;
  • Ranking;
  • Score, XP, level, belt or relevant achievement information.

A child's real name, email address, telephone number, profile photograph or other direct contact information will not be displayed through leaderboards.

Leaderboard design and visibility may vary depending on the particular feature and the child's eligibility or ranking.

6. Maths Battles and Interaction Between Children

JustMathify may allow children to participate in Maths Battles and other competitive learning activities with other users.

During these activities, users may be able to see limited information about another participant, such as:

  • Nickname;
  • Avatar;
  • Maths Battle score;
  • Belt, level or selected achievements;
  • Battle powers or virtual items used; and
  • Pre-approved reactions or emojis.

No Free-Text Chat

JustMathify does not provide free-text communication between children through Maths Battles.

Children cannot use the Maths Battle communication feature to type messages to another child.

Communication between players, where enabled, is limited to a selection of predefined emojis, reactions or messages provided by JustMathify.

This design is intended to allow children to enjoy social competition while reducing opportunities to exchange personal contact information or inappropriate written content.

7. Nicknames and Avatars

Children interact with other users through a nickname and a JustMathify avatar rather than their real identity.

Nicknames must not contain:

  • Full names;
  • Telephone numbers;
  • Email addresses;
  • Social media handles;
  • Addresses;
  • Offensive or inappropriate language; or
  • Other information that could reasonably identify or contact the child.

We may use automated or manual moderation mechanisms and reserve the right to reject, modify or remove inappropriate nicknames.

Avatars available for public or multiplayer use are provided or approved by JustMathify. Personal photographs are not required for child profiles.

8. Matchmaking and Peer Groups

Where JustMathify provides Maths Battles, weekly leagues or similar competitive features, we may use information such as a child's:

  • Maths level;
  • Learning progress;
  • Recent activity;
  • Battle performance;
  • Grade/year level; and
  • Other relevant learning or gameplay information

to place the child with users at an appropriate or similar level.

This information is used to provide fairer and more engaging learning and competitive experiences.

9. Technical and Usage Information

When the Service is used, we may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including:

  • Browser type;
  • Device type;
  • Operating system;
  • IP address;
  • Login and session information;
  • Pages or features accessed;

  • Other information necessary for security, analytics and operation of the Service.

Some of this information may constitute personal data or personal information under applicable laws.

JustMathify does not display behavioural or targeted advertising to children based on their personal information or activity on the Service.

If advertising or promotional practices change in the future, this Privacy Policy and any required consent mechanisms will be updated accordingly.

15. Data Minimisation

We seek to collect only information reasonably necessary to provide, personalise, secure and improve JustMathify.

In particular, our multiplayer features are designed to minimise the amount of personal information children need to disclose to other users.

16. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, misuse or loss.

Access to personal information is restricted to persons and service providers who require access for legitimate operational purposes.

However, no online system or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
